2003 District Awards of Merit:
As a movement whose leadership is overwhelmingly volunteer, the Boy
Scouts of America recognizes the need to acknowledge the invaluable
services that men and women render to youth. The District Award
of Merit is awarded by a District to volunteer and professional
adults for service to youth in the District.
This recognition is granted by one's own peers in Scouting for

Order of the Arrow- Founder’s Award
Congratulations to David Summerlot, Second Vice Chief of Tipisa
Lodge and Lemhee-Okee Chapter member, who received
the OA Founder’s
Award at Tipisa’s 2003 Spring Conclave. This award was established
in 1981 by the National Order of the Arrow Committee to recognize
those Arrowmen who memorialized the spirit of achievement as revealed
by the Order’s founders, Dr. E. Urner Goodman and Col. Carroll
A. Edson.
Vigil Honor – Order of the Arrow
Lemhee-Okee members Carolyn
and Brad White received Vigil Honor
at the 2003 Spring Conclave. The Vigil Honor is a high mark of
distinction
and recognition that is reserved for Arrowmen who, by reason of exceptional
service, personal effort, and unselfish interest, have made distinguished
contributions to Scouting and their Lodge. Congratulations to Carolyn
and Brad, the first 'husband & wife team' to be so recognized.
